When I am asked about the under 5-ton LCV segment, above all it’s always an Eicher Pro 2049 BS6 first in mind. This is such a fantastic truck under the 5 Ton GVW category with a payload of around 2.7 tons. This makes it an Intercity and intracity truck.
Engine and driveline
Eicher Pro 2049 BS6 delivers a mileage of around 9-11 km per litre in daily driving conditions. Sometimes when you get an open stretch and drive it at the economy speed you may even touch 11 to 12 kmpl. All credit goes to E-366, 3 cylinders 4 valves, common rail system Bs-6 diesel engine. This engine of 2000cc churns out 100 HP@ 3200 RPM. The major part in the favour of this engine is 285 Nm of Flat torque band between 1250 – 2500 RPM. This is complemented by Eicher 3M5D 5 PTO provision gearbox that connects to the engine via to 280mm diameter clutch. In addition, Talking about the return on investment this truck is found quite capable as per my opinion.

Exterior
Talking more about driveline, this offers a lubricated for the life propeller shaft, a big Crown Wheel in the rear differential, added rigid axles.
There are leaf spring suspensions at both ends which are grease-free due to rubber bushes. This LCV truck can take bad roads and load variations easily. The polymer fuel tank has a 60-litre capacity which provides a wholesome range of around 500km plus in one go. Also, there is an 18L AdBlue tank.
Intetior
Talking about driver comfort, this truck offers a Wholesome of comfort which includes

Tyre and brakes
The tyre size is 7.00X16 which again is decent. Considering the overall 10 feet deck length of the vehicle, the dual plate hydraulic disc brakes on all four wheels are operated by hydraulic pressure. Breaks have an immediate response and have a sharp bite.
Warranty and Maintenance
Eicher provides a warranty of the first year on a complete vehicle and subsequent three years on the engine and gearbox. This comes with no kilometer limit in warranty simultaneously adding more peace of mind. To add more the maintenance of the vehicle calculates to 50,000km per service. Which again is quite good.
